Ma Hong Yiu

Currently a Form 4 student at King's College, serving as the vice-chair of the school's Chinese Orchestra. Ma is also a percussionist in both the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra and the Hong Kong City Chinese Orchestra. Inspired by Ms. Lee Wai-mei in primary school, he began learning Chinese percussion under Mr. Luk Kin Bun in 2021. In 2024, he won the Chinese Drum Youth Division Championship at the IPEA Percussion Competition, and in 2025, he achieved Distinction in the Grade 8 International Chinese Music Grading Examination. Apart from that, he started learning conducting under Mr. Cheng Shing-tai since 2023 and is currently the student conductor of his school's Chinese Orchestra, participating in numerous exchange programs and performances with both his school and the Hong Kong Young Chinese Orchestra.
